Hybrid Schedule

Half of our meetings will take place in-person and half online:

• • We will meet in person at the beginning (1/28, 2/4, 2/11) and end (4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13) of the semester.
  • We will meet online during the middle (2/25, 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, 3/25, 4/1, 4/8) of the semester.

Week 2 | Tuesday, February 4 (in person)

In class: Elevator pitches, decision day, group formation, group roles and collaborator agreement. By the end of this class period, you should have a list of group members, responsibilities, and an agreement for modes of communication and meeting deadlines.

Week 6 | Tuesday, March 4 (guest lecture by Steve Zweibel) (online)

In class:  Guest lecture on data management by Steve Zweibel, GC Digital Projects Librarian. Group meeting to discuss data management plans, storage, and sharing practices.

Week 7 | Tuesday, March 11 (online)

• Group Outreach and Social Media Plans by Wednesday, 3/12 (= public group post; category: Group Project Updates). For examples from the last few years, see here, here, here, and here.

In class: Project presentations discussing data management plans, discuss logo design plans, collaborative group work focusing on outreach and social media plans.

In class: T minus one week! Guest lecture by Stephen Klein on web archiving, collaborative project work and consultation.

Week 15 | Tuesday, May 6 (in person)

Due: Personal journal entries (5/5). No group project updates this week.

In class: Project launch dress rehearsal. Invited guests Sam O’Hana and TBD will visit class to offer external feedback.

Week 16 | Tuesday, May 13 (in person)

Public project launch at the GC Digital Showcase, to be held at the Segal Theatre.

Week 17 | Tuesday, May 20

Due:

• Post final group project reports as public posts to Commons blog.
• Email individual reflection papers to instructor.
